2004 Classes & Festival - Zittels and Folsom California
Rhoda taking David Snook class and his beautiful gourds.
Rhoda's Motorhome and Dar's partial unloaded car - Reno
This is a very nice RV park at the Hilton in Reno. Very quiet and
a super nice dinner and wonderful evening. We thought we'd also stop
there on our way back - little did we know that Reno would have 30,000
motorcyclists in town. Vroom vroom vroom all evening and night.
somehow I missed taking pictures of the classes at Zittel's farm altho
I carried the camera around with me the whole time. Rhoda may have
some of the class photos. So this is the start of the festival early
Saturday

Look at all these people. We got there when the gates opened and
with our backs breaking and arms loaded, we hobbled out at noon,
exhausted.
Sorry about pics of people's backs but they were as engrossed in
looking as I was in taking pics.
Some of the vendors were new to gourds and vendoring and some of the
vendors were well known.
A new to gourds vendor and the Z-Miner's Gourd Booth. If anyone
can add names to these faces, please let me know and I'll put it on here,
or if I have it wrong - let me know.
Both of our classes had Teacher Assistants, thank you thank you,
whoever came up with these helpers. It was really appreciated.
Virginia in blue was a TA for both Rhoda and me.
Wonderful booth arrangements along with beautiful gourds. And
lookie here, its our own Cindy Lee talking to Rhoda - wonderful art Cindy.
Rapt attention at a demonstration going on and more tables of great
gourds.
Here is Larry McClellan, my Dot Painting teacher and marvelous
artist. Look at the job he's done with these Red Hat Ladies, isn't
that a kick?
Camera was also getting tired and the sun was very bright - getting to
be near 98 degrees by now.
One booth set up for a walk thru effect and another new gourder and new
vendor.
another arrangement for a gourd booth and look close at the doll
hanging up high in the last picture - she had a score of them in her
booth, they were marvelous!!
I should know this ladies name so someone please help me out -
wonderful work. And Rhoda in the next pic is feeling just like
myself, on automatic pilot and sensory overload.
Buyers all over the place, we sure had to wait in the lines and the
last pic is of Vera K and her prize winning jewelry - she's in many
Galleries and also teaches.
Pondering, pondering, either "should I buy" or "can I
make that?" and last pic is of Lillian Hopkins. Take a
close look at her Wood Spirits. They have eyes that sparkle and hold
all the mysteries of the world and universe.
And there is Kristy Dial, the Queen of Torched Gourds - what a Gal to
come to the Motorhome in the dark and show us tricks with a blowtorch
Just had to get out in the middle and away from the pack of people in
the booths. By this time both Rhoda and I were really wearing
down.
Where is Jeanne Chapman????? How did I miss Jeanne? She did
a bang up job on organizing all the classes, teachers, and students.
This was end of show for us as we were barely able to make it back to the
Motorhome and Trevor with all our new supplies.
